What is JSON?
JSON is a text format for sharing data between programs. It can keep a form’s answers together with their labels.
Alex fills in a form. To pass the answers to your automation, the form service could package them like this:
{
"name": "Alex",
"email": "alex@example.com"
}name is a label, called a key. Alex is its value. The braces group these fields into an object. Keys and text values use double quotes.
Your automation reads name and puts its value in the spreadsheet’s Name column. The label makes that mapping possible. If an API expects name, sending full_name instead may fail even though the JSON is correctly written.
Your assistant may call the data being sent a payload. JSON is one way to format that payload; it can hold lists, numbers, and other values too.
{
"name": "Alex",
"email":
"alex@example.com"
}JSON describes data. It does not save a signup or add a spreadsheet row by itself. Your app still needs instructions for those actions.
